A Dream in the Dark is a collection of twelve digital live albums spanning two decades – from Okkervil River’s earliest shows up to the present day. It presents a comprehensive history of the band through the lens of concerts instead of studio albums, and it draws from a massive archive of recordings catalogued by Will Sheff and by fans throughout the years. Each installment of the series comes with detailed liner notes, including essays, journal entries, interviews with band-members past and present, and copious archival photographs. The liner notes are presented in both written and podcast-style audio format. Subscription to one of the two tiers of A Dream in the Dark also gives you access to additional rewards detailed below.

HOW IT WORKS:

Immediately after subscribing to A Dream in the Dark you’ll be able to download the first album in the series from this site. After that, you’ll receive an email once a month for 12 months indicating when there is a new album ready to download. You can return to the Subscriber’s Area of the site at any time to download previous albums or to read an online version of the liner notes, which will also be included with your album download.
